A School Day Out
At the Heididorf (Heidi's Village), we are very orientated around providing younger generations with an enriching educational experience. Heididorf offers guided tours and adventure programs, to children of all ages. Let your discovery run wild and experience, as a class, where Heidi lived, slept and ate. Get to know our medicinal herbs on a herb stag and make your own healing ointment. Immerse yourself in the unique story of Heidi and get involved.
Use the day and discover Heidi’s house, the mountain hut and the museum “Johanna Spyri’s Heidi World” by yourself before or after the course. The trip to the original Heididorf is guaranteed to be an enriching experience for the whole class, and a great day out!
Heidi’s Herbs
We take the class into the world of medicinal herbs, which were used during Heidi's times. On a walk through rich meadows, abundant with flowers, students will discover the wild herbs that live on our doorstep, they will also learn more about their benefits and then stir their own healing or cosmetic ointment. Students can then individually move through the fragrant herb garden.

Discover’s Heidi’s Home
Take a wonderful walk up the mountain, and discover Heidi’s home, inside and out. Discover how she lived during the cold and long winters, or the warm summers. Discover where she played, ate, and slept. Using state-of-art smart glasses, discover the winter house. After a short walk up the mountainside, students will be allowed to try out and rest in Heidi’s hay bed, before a well deserved break, with a complimentary sandwich. But before this break, students will be asked to help Heidi's grandfather bring cream down to the village.

Making chees in the Mountain Hut
In the mountain hut, you’ll come across the smell of fine smoke rising from the finely cut wood burning away, under a large saucer filled with the finest milk. This milk begins to boil, under the watchful eye of a cheese maker, who will show you, how the traditional production of cheese took place during Heidi’s grandfather's time. Students themselves, will have the enriching opportunity to make cheeses, and take them home at the end!
